Wine Gift Baskets for Women
While drinking and appreciating wine is certainly enjoyed by both women and men, Palate Partners has created a few special arrangements that are gender specific. Not many wineries or wine sellers focus on special gift baskets for women, for instance, but our gift designers couldn't resist creating and arranging special gourmet wine baskets just for her. You'll notice that our pre-planned baskets include something for brides, bosses, new mothers, not-so-new mothers, birthday girls, graduates and many others. And if you don't see something that's just right in our catalog, give our designers a call. When they're not dreaming up new arrangements for our listings, they're putting together made-to-order baskets for our customers. Of course, we haven't ignored gourmet wine gift baskets just for the men, either. Whether he's a groom, a golfer or a grandfather, he'll love our popular customized gray boxes filled with delectable wines, scrumptious snacks and other goodies designed with him in mind. Tasting Gourmet Wine Gift Baskets
In the world of wine, there's a big difference between drinking and tasting. It's surprising that many wine drinkers, including those who have enjoyed hundreds of wines over the course of several years, don't know much about the traditional practice of tasting a glass of wine. If you're among them, you might want to remember these tips in anticipation of the gourmet wine gift baskets you'll receive from Palate Partners. Tasting begins by observing and studying the color of the wine in the glass. Pour yourself a small glass and look at the changing hues from all angles, noting the presence of any sediment. Now smell the glass, lightly at first, by gently inhaling from a few inches away. Once you've savored that scent, put your nose right down into the glass - just not into the wine. Inhale deeply through your nose to pick up all of the scents the wine has to offer. Finally, when it's time to drink, take a small sip and swirl it around in your mouth for a few moments before swallowing. As you taste, note that wines are typically studied in three phases of taste: the initial impression as soon as you take a sip, the changing flavor as the wine remains in your mouth and the finish, which is the after-taste that remains for several seconds after swallowing. If you purchase gift baskets for women or men who may not be familiar with the tasting process, feel free to share these steps when you give your gift. Your recipients will likely get more pleasure out of your gift, and it may mark the beginning of a whole new understanding of wine for them.
